Counting.....

So, JW counted to 100 today!! He had help a couple times from Jake, but basically did it all on his own. WOW, time sure is going by quickly. He is quite the smart little boy. (Shhhh, don't tell him I called him that!)

We also took him to see his second movie today. He did really well sitting through it. I was quite impressed! Jake took him to see the Chipmunk movie a couple weeks ago, and since he did so well, we decided today was a good day for another. We went and saw Planet 51. I don't think he enjoyed it near as much as the chipmunk one, but he still did really well. He says that the "TV" is as big as our house!!!

I don't think that I am doing to well with him growing up so quickly. I look around at all the bab ies, and really wish for that time back. I miss when he would snuggle his little face into my neck, and fall asleep on my chest. I am really hoping that God will bless us with another one, but if not, I am trying to enjoy every moment that I have with him. Sometimes I think that I get to frustrated with him to quickly, and don't take the time to enjoy him. I am trying to remember to take a step back and realize that these times are fleeting, and that I will never get them back, so I better enjoy them while I can. Even if I feel like he will never be potty trained. LOL

What should we do?

So, last week at preschool, my son started throwing what the teachers call an anger tantrum. The teacher asked him to stop chewing on a toy, and when he wouldn't quit, took the toy away. I got a call at work, and in the background, I could here my son throwing a huge screaming fit. The teacher told me I needed to come right away. I left work, only to get to preschool, and have my son playing nicely. This has happen three times now. The second time, Jake went to school and took him aside, and talked to him. We didn't want him to think we would take him home everytime he threw a fit. He then did it again 5 minutes before Jake can to pick him up the other day.

The teachers keep asking what could be causing him to behave this way. They asked if something was going on at home. I can't think of anything that has changed recently, but I get the idea that if he doesn't stop it soon, they will not want him to come back. I guess in these "rages" as they call them, he tends to lash out, and try to hurt whoever is talking to him. I am at a loss with what to do. We have tried punishing him, talking to him, time outs, taking toys away.... What is next?

Boys will be Boys.

JW has met a new little boy named Brycen. They are only a couple months apart in age. We went with Brycen and his parents and stayed with some friends in Portland for the weekend, and Brycens parents took along some powerwheels for the boys to drive. It didn't take long for JW to catch on, and drive all over the place. It was pouring down rain at one point, and they still drove around, and didn't want to stop. The only way we got them out, is to let the batteries go dead! It was really cute. Here are some pictures.

Pony rides.

Some of my favorite memories as a kid, were with our ponies. My sisters and I were always able to be found out riding our ponies. Any time someone came over to our place, out came the ponies, and we would proceed to teach them how to ride. I remeber going to the neighbors, and teaching everyone to ride. We had so much fun, and we had tons of places to ride. We rode those ponies all over the neighborhhod, and when we got older, I remember taking the horses all the way to town!!!

Since I have such great memories of those times, I have been harassing my husband to buy a pony since JW was like a year old. Ponies nowadays are so expensive. We have gone to numerous sales, but I refused to spend $600 to $1000 for a pony. I remember my parents got most of our ponies for free, or for like $75. Now, I know that was a long time ago, but I still wasn't going to spend that much. One day, I was at work, and recieved a text from Jake. It was a picture of a pony, and it said what do you think? Since it was a Tuesday, I knew Jake was in Klamath Falls at the cattle sale, and I figured the pony must be going through the sale. I figured Jake just wanted me to see it, but he texted me a couple of hours later, and said that it was JW's. He had bought it for JW for $130. What a wonderful hubby and father to my son I have!!! Even though I don't think he thought JW needed this pony, he got him one because he knew how much I wanted JW to experience what I did as a kid. I am very lucky.

We have had the pony, which Jake named Frosty for a quite a few months now, but unfortunately the weather has not cooperated with me. Jw has only been able to sit on him for a few minutes here and there. Finally tonight, I was able to tack him up, and give JW a little ride around the front yard!!! Aren't they cute!!!!

Family Pictures

We decided to get Family pictures taken this years at Walmart instead of Sears. We thought it would be nice to change it up a bit. The gal taking pictures was really good with JW. She got him to pose, and smile really well! JW behaved really well, and made me look forward to the next time. I was really not looking forward to these pictures because the last few times we got pictures taken were awful!! I can tell that JW is growing up, and we are getting through the terrible twos!

Jake is working diligently to clean up our horse pasture. His boss was very nice, and let us demo an excavator, and we are using it to clean up the blackberries, and level the pasture. Jake has been outside working from sun up to sun down. JW and I were out there the other day, throwing wood on the burn pile, and watching Jake drive the excavator. We might actually get the pasture looking presentable. Here is the LINKBELT!!!

Halloween '08

I am the worst when it come to procrastinating!! I have known for a long time that halloween was coming, but I still kept saying I will get JW's costume later. We couldn't really decide what we wanted him to dress up as. He is still young enough, that we wanted something kind of cute. Since I put off shopping until 2 days before halloween, all the cute costumes were gone. The ones that were left were either to small or they were to scary for JW. He didn't want a mask over his face.

Jake came up with the idea that we dress him up as a logger. We found some red suspenders at Wilco, and Jake bought him some worker boots at Goodwill. Jeans and a flannel shirt finished off the outfit. Jake let him wear an old hard hat that he had. I didn't think the outfit looked all that cute, but when we took him trick or treating, everyone commented on how cute he looked, and how they loved that we didn't just buy an outfit. I guess my procrastination paid off!!

Here are some pics of him in his outfit, and also with the pumpkin that his Nana and grandpa grew in their garden for him. He has loved going to the garden, and seeing his pumpkin get bigger.
